I like the title of Ashleigh Brilliant's book, "I Have Abandoned My Search for Truth and Am Now Looking for a Good Fantasy". Such a perfect laugh at his hippy generation's pathetic nose-dive into drugs and far-eastern religions in an effort to appear deep, when they were really just rebelling against their parents well into their own thirties. I'm glad he can laugh at it in that way.
My parents were older than my peers, and I had a friend, Clay Suggs, who had a fairly young set compared to his peers, so the difference in our sets of parents was really something. Clay's dad was sitting in the living room smoking pot the first time I visited his home. I didn't visit again out of a healthy dread that the police might show up and haul us all away.
